Sun Life Foundation presents this year's awardees for the Brighter World Builder Challenge as they welcome new allies with a mission of spreading financial literacy among Filipinos. They challenged organizations to present best ideas they had in terms of promoting financial literacy and aimed to discover and support high potential initiatives that cater to the marginalized sector.

The collaboration between Sun Life Foundation and The Spark Project allowed both of them to crowd source creative and innovative solutions from social innovators and change makers, helping them deepen their impact with the communities.

Bin Stalk initiates waste management projects that aim to educate the youth through the aid of incentives such as reward points, financial literacy projects and fun workshops. The project site is Malabanan Elementary School. OPLAN Kaalaman sa Pananalapi by Budget Squad Manila offers financial education program for low income Filipino communities that have limited access to financial services and guidance. They will get personalized help in dealing with specific financial issues which keep them from overcoming poverty. Project site is in Alabat, Quezon.
EmpoWomen PH is a three phase project for displaced women and their families through livelihood particularly those who were affected bt the Zamboanga and Marawi siege. The project has 25 women partners in Zamboanga and 100 women partners in Marawi. Ang Maperang Pinay by FLOW Entrepreneurship Organization Philippines Inc. provides knowledge sharing activity that encourages marginalized, under-served, underprivileged and unbaked women to shift their mindset from having no money to managing financial opportunities.
The Kids Who Save School Tour is a program that waims to use the Hangarin board game to teach financial literacy to Filipino children aged 9 to 12 years. Project sites is Navotas and Mandaluyong. Mano Amiga Academy Inc. will be using Project Based Learning through Young Savers Experiential Learning to Financial Literacy where children are taught early about the importance of the value of money, acquire the fundamentals of saving for the future and develop critical thinking skills related to money and finance. Project site is Metro manila.

The Change for a Life campaign by The Global Filipino Investors, TGFI Inc. will financially educate the poor families. Aside from the usual lectures, participants are given coin banks that help them to practice what they have learned. For the Creating a Brighter Future for the Children of Sugar Cane Farmers in Bacolod by Write Conversations Publishing and Consultancy, they will be creating Financial Literacy project for select 50 students of Jovito Sayson National Highscool.

COINscios Juan from Y-Loop Digital Solutions is a mobile app that aims to make every-'juan' conscious about every coin they spend. It will let the user know how much he could save given a set of options. Pitaka Ko by Works of the Heart is an interactive and creative learning and savings journal wallet designed for kids aged 8 to 15.

Awardees received a grant funding of PhP 100,000 from Sun Life Foundation, crowdfunding support from The Spark Project and a chance to develop their initiatives in a Social Impact Bootcamp by Spark Project.
The future certainly looks bright with the innovative and fresh ideas from these bunch of awardees for the Brighter World Builders Challenge. I am looking forward for the launch of each projects with the support from Sun Life Foundation and The Sparks Project.
