#FinancePH - BDO Unibank To Strengthen Partnership with Department of Migrant Workers.
BDO Unibank ensures its ties with Department of Migrant Workers together with Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) at Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). Genie T. Gloria, senior vice president of BDO and head of remittances, said that the company is grateful for the Department of Migrant Workers' assistance in spreading awareness of BDO initiatives among Overseas Filipino Workers.
"We are looking forward to a more fruitful partnership with the Department of Migrant Workers para marami pa tayong matulungan na mga kabayan natin abroad sa maaasahang perang padala, makapag-ipon at paghandaan ang kanilang kinabukasan", Gloria added.
Several campaigns are being promoted through the pre-departure orientation systems (PDOS) that have been routinely conducted by BDO and the Department of Migrant Workers for those traveling to work outside the country, such as the significance of consistent saving, investing, and loan applications to help them to run their own businesses.
In order to assure the security and promptness of money transfers to their loved ones, BDO further emphasizes the significance of establishing a BDO Kabayan Savings account. They create their bank records, which will eventually assist them with future loan applications, by having a direct account where their family may receive their remittance.
In addition to Cash Agad, BDO has a wide-ranging network in the Philippines that includes ATMs within 1,800 7-Eleven locations in the NCR, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Cebu areas. Note that BDO Kabayan cardholders who withdraw money from BDO ATMs need not to pay a transaction fee.
BDO was recently recognized by the Department of Migrant Workers during the celebration of Migrant Workers Day for their support of abroad Filipino workers' welfare, particularly at the beginning of the epidemic. BDO's initiatives, such as its BDO Remit remittance service and sponsorship of the internet connection in DMW offices, allow Filipinos to continue the PDOS process online.
