#FoodPH - Jollibee marks 85th Location in North America, The First in the State of Pennsylvania

The happiest bee is finally bringing its distinctive brand of joy to the city for the first time, and Philadelphia is humming with anticipation.

With the opening of its first branch at 7340 Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, last September 2, homegrown restaurant brand Jollibee achieved another milestone in its North American development adventure. This facility is the first to service the state of Pennsylvania.

Jollibee Philadelphia attracted a throng on opening day just like its other openings in other U.S. cities, with a familiar scene of eager customers queuing up for dine-in and even for drive-thru service in the early morning to get a taste of its buzzed-about menu items. Eater.com, a website, just named Jollibee Chickenjoy the "greatest fried chicken chain in America."

“The Jollibee Philadelphia store is very special to us because it is our first location in the whole of the state of Pennsylvania, and we are deeply grateful for the appreciation of Philadelphians who came and made our opening day memorable. Serving new markets has always been an exciting mission for us and it has been integral to achieve our goal of becoming among the top five restaurants in the world,” said Maribeth Dela Cruz, President, Jollibee Group North America.  

Some of the top seller menu items include the Original and Spicy Chickenjoy, which is delicately hand-breaded and cooked with precision to achieve the Juicylicious taste and Crispylicious texture on first bite; the Original Chicken Sandwich, which is served on a toasted brioche bun and stuffed with crispy, juicy chicken breast fillet with umami mayo; and the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, which is a fiery version of the chicken sandwich with sriracha mayo and fresh jalapenos. Another crowd favorite is the mouth-watering Peach Mango Pie which is made of crispy and flaky pie filled with peaches and real Philippine mangoes.

The opening of Jollibee Philadelphia marks its 85th location in North America which came at the heels of the successful opening of its Times Square location last August 18. In the coming months, it is slated to open more stores in California and Florida in the U.S., and British Columbia in Canada.
