#CulturePH - Team Filipinas Makes The Manila Hotel their Home on their Triumphant Return

The prestigious Filipinas women's national football team, which is representing the Philippines at the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, returns home victorious and full of pride.  The Manila Hotel sends a warm welcome to the squad and will serve as their home after they arrive from New Zealand in recognition of their outstanding accomplishment and devotion to the sport.

To make Filipinos proud and to represent the Philippines on one of the most famous athletic stages in the world, the 23 brave women players who make up Filipinas set out on their journey.  The team attracted notice from throughout the world with their breathtaking performance at the 2023 FIFA World Cup, notably their epic triumph over New Zealand. 

In addition to bringing honor to the country, this historic victory also represented the nation's first participation in the FIFA Women's World Cup. Despite coming from different origins, the athletes came together to proudly hoist the national flag, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to making every Filipino proud.

“Just being qualified to compete, for the first time ever, in the FIFA Women’s World Cup which is undoubtedly football’s biggest stage, was a great honor in itself for the Filipinas. Compared to many countries that have scored their first wins after numerous games in several world cups, the Philippines’ early win was phenomenal indeed,” expressed by The Manila Hotel President, Atty. Joey Lina.
