#FinancePH - Digido Brings Smiles to Cuyambay Elementary School with a Heartwarming Donation Drive

We all know how important education is, especially for young minds eager to learn and grow. That’s why we’re thrilled to share the heartwarming story of Digido Finance Corp.'s recent donation drive at Cuyambay Elementary School in Tanay, Rizal. This initiative is all about giving back and supporting our future leaders.

On October 11, 2024, the dedicated team at Digido, along with some amazing volunteers, organized the “Pack a Bag: Ready, Set, Learn!” program. They handed out tote bags filled with essential school supplies like tumblers, intermediate paper, crayons, ballpens, notebooks, and even personalized messages to 269 bright-eyed students. But that’s not all! The hardworking teachers also received basic supplies to help them continue their incredible work.

Nestled in the beautiful mountains and lakes of Rizal, Cuyambay Elementary School faces challenges in accessing urban centers where school supplies are more readily available. This donation drive was a beacon of hope, ensuring that these young learners have the tools they need to succeed.

Diane Tinoko, head of human resources and administration at Digido, shared her thoughts on the initiative: “Opportunities to contribute towards a more equitable education for underserved learners completely align with our company ethos. This particular initiative is a simple gesture to give back to our teachers going above and beyond to ensure their students have an inclusive space for learning.”

The event was not just about giving supplies; it was a day filled with light entertainment and meals, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved. Dragonpay, a trusted partner of Digido, also made a generous monetary donation to support this wonderful cause.

This donation drive is part of Digido’s broader commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) activities, aimed at enhancing community well-being and promoting sustainability. While the Philippines has made significant strides in education, there’s still a long way to go, especially in early childhood education.
