The FEU Center for the Arts is thrilled to present “Music 101: 600 Years of Music,” an “informance” featuring the world-renowned pianist, Dr. Raul Sunico. Mark your calendars for November 5, 2024, because this is an event you won’t want to miss!

A Musical Journey Through Time

Dr. Raul Sunico, praised by The New York Times for his “well-developed technique” and “genuine connection to the music,” will take us on a captivating journey through music history. This unique event will be divided into two sessions:

Morning Session (9:00 AM): Dive into the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical periods. Discover the roots of the music we love today!

Afternoon Session (1:00 PM): Explore the Romantic, Post-Romantic, and 20th Century periods. Feel the evolution of music through the ages.

Meet the Maestro

Dr. Sunico is not just any pianist; he’s a legend in the world of music. With degrees from the University of the Philippines, Juilliard, and New York University, his accolades are as impressive as his performances. He’s played with orchestras around the globe, from the Moscow Philharmonic to the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.

A Rich History with FEU

Dr. Sunico has a special connection with the FEU Auditorium, having performed here multiple times. From “An Evening of Gershwin Songs” in 1988 to “The Songs of the Philippine Revolution 1896-1898” in 1997, his performances have always been a highlight. His last performance at FEU was a memorable duet with blind tenor-pianist Carlos “Chuckie” Ibay, playing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto #2 on two Steinway grand pianos.
