#CulturePH - Pru Life UK and Humble Sustainability Team Up for E-Waste Disposal and Digital Inclusion

We’ve got some exciting news about a fantastic partnership that’s making a real difference. Pru Life UK has joined forces with Humble Sustainability, a leading climate health technology start-up, to tackle climate change and bridge the digital divide. Here’s how they’re doing it:

A Circular Economy Approach

Through the principles of a circular economy, this partnership is showcasing how sustainability can create lasting social impact while protecting our planet. Pru Life UK’s unused company IT assets will be brought back into circularity through Humble’s reselling program, which has an extensive network of buyers. In just the first month, Pru Life UK has generated over Php 240K from its revenue share and expects more batches of IT assets and employee-donated devices in the coming months.

Supporting Education in Mindanao

All proceeds from the sale of these IT assets will go towards purchasing electronic devices for community madrasahs (Islamic schools) in Mindanao as part of Pru Life UK’s Adopt-a-Madrasah programme. This initiative, which started in Davao City, aims to develop priority interventions for teachers and students in the community, supporting the Takaful operations launched by Pru Life UK last November.

Minimizing E-Waste and Bridging the Digital Divide

This collaboration not only helps minimize electronic waste but also empowers underserved communities with access to technology, enhancing opportunities for education and connectivity. Atty. Paul Mandal, Senior Vice President & Chief Legal, Government Relations and Sustainability Officer at Pru Life UK, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, saying:
