Get ready for an exciting start to the year with PETA's Control + Shift: Changing Narratives Festival 2025! This festival promises to bring fresh and bold reimaginings of Filipino stories to the theater stage, offering a unique blend of traditional and contemporary narratives.
A Festival of Innovation
Under the direction of J-mee Katanyag, the newly appointed company artistic director, this festival showcases a collection of provocative original works. Expect a diverse range of performative and theater forms, including puppetry, movement, interactivity, and digital theater. These elements come together to reimagine Filipino folklore, values, and contemporary issues, creating narratives that connect the past, present, and future.
Must-See Performances
The festival's centerpiece is the critically acclaimed trilogy Kumprontasyon by Melvin Lee, which will be remounted from February 6-9 at the PETA-Phinma Theater. This theatrical masterpiece explores unresolved historical and political events through three one-act plays featuring renowned actors like Teroy Guzman, Sherry Lara, Romnick Sarmenta, and more.
Other highlights include:

Control + Shift + SPIT: An Improvised Show (February 16): A one-night-only improv performance by The Silly People’s Improv Theater (SPIT), promising spontaneous hilarity and fun.
