#ArtPH - Alice Reyes Dance Philippines Opens 2025 Season with PAGDIRIWANG: Sayaw Alay sa Sining

Get ready for an unforgettable evening of dance as Alice Reyes Dance Philippines launches its 2025 season with PAGDIRIWANG: Sayaw Alay sa Sining. This mixed bill program, set to take the stage on April 4 and 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM at the Globe Auditorium, Maybank Performing Arts Theater, promises to showcase the company's incredible versatility and talent.

A Celebration of Dance

Now in its 4th season, Alice Reyes Dance Philippines continues to elevate Philippine dance by presenting a diverse repertoire that spans classical ballet, neoclassical, modern, and contemporary works. This landmark production features masterful pieces by some of the most celebrated names in dance, including National Artists for Dance and internationally renowned choreographers.

The Program

The evening will include:

C’EST LA CIE (Neo-Classical): A world premiere choreography by Agustus ‘Bam’ Damian III.

AMADA (Filipino Modern Dance): Choreographed by National Artist for Dance Alice Reyes, with music by National Artist for Music Lucrecia Kasilag.

SONGS OF A WAYFARER (Modern Dance): Choreographed by Norman Walker, set to the music of Gustav Mahler.

MOON (Contemporary): Choreographed by Kun-Yang Lin, with music by Dead Can Dance.

NOCTURNE (Neo-Classical): Choreographed by Carlo AC Pacis.

GLINKA’S VALSE (Classical Ballet): Choreographed by Adam Sage, with music by Mikhail Glinka.

MUYBRIDGE/FRAMES (Contemporary): Choreographed by Denisa Reyes.

A Special Farewell

This performance will be particularly special as it marks the farewell of multi-awarded Filipina ballerina Candice Adea from the Philippine stage. Adea, who has been performing with the West Australian Ballet and was a former Principal Dancer of Ballet Philippines, will take on the titular role in Alice Reyes’ AMADA.
