#CulturePH - Herbalife Family Foundation Empowers Filipino Communities with PHP 8.7 Million Grant
In a heartwarming move to nourish and uplift underserved communities, the Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF) has awarded a generous PHP 8.7 million grant to two remarkable Filipino nonprofit organizations—SOS Children’s Villages Pilipinas and Tuloy Foundation. This initiative is part of HFF's global Casa Herbalife Program, which partners with community organizations to provide nutritious meals, educational resources, and safe environments for children and underserved communities.
Nourishing Futures with SOS Children’s Villages Pilipinas
At SOS Children’s Villages Pilipinas, the grant is making a significant impact on the lives of 217 children. These funds ensure that the children receive proper nutrition and essential life skills. Beyond just food assistance, the grant supports mental health programs, helping children develop coping strategies and resilience. It also strengthens advocacy initiatives, such as the Children’s Month Celebration themed "Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines," emphasizing the importance of child protection and holistic development. Additionally, caregivers receive training to promote healthier lifestyles among children through exercise and wellness sessions.
“This generous grant from the Herbalife Foundation has been instrumental in ensuring that the children in our care receive the nourishment they need to grow, learn, and thrive,” said Romil I. Rayos Del Sol, Deputy National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Pilipinas. “Beyond food security, it strengthens our advocacy for children’s rights and helps us equip our caregivers with vital skills to promote holistic well-being.”
Empowering Self-Reliance with Tuloy Foundation
The Tuloy Foundation is also benefiting from the grant, providing food subsidies to ensure that 200 children receive daily nutritious meals. The grant supports Tuloy’s innovative aquaponics garden initiative, where children learn to grow their own vegetables, fostering self-reliance and sustainability.
“At Tuloy Foundation, we believe in more than just feeding children—we empower them with the knowledge and skills to sustain themselves in the future,” shared Fr. Marciano "Rocky" Evangelista, President and Founder of Tuloy Foundation. “With HFF’s support, our aquaponics initiative is not only providing nutritious meals but also instilling valuable life lessons in self-reliance and responsibility.”
Recently, the children of the Tuloy Foundation were invited to the Herbalife Spectacular, the company’s annual kickoff event, where they had the opportunity to meet, engage, and celebrate with Herbalife’s employees and Members.
A Shared Commitment to a Healthier Future
These grants are a testament to HFF’s unwavering commitment to creating healthier, more inclusive communities. By addressing the nutritional needs and holistic development of children, HFF reinforces its mission to ensure no child is left behind.
“The impact of these grants goes beyond nutrition; they help shape a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive in a safe and supportive environment. We are proud to be part of this journey towards building a healthier Philippines,” added Allan Domingo, General Manager of Herbalife Philippines.
Globally, the Herbalife Family Foundation has awarded $5 million in grants to 164 nonprofit organizations across 59 countries and territories for the 2024 - 2025 term.
