On March 13, the cast and creative team of "Delia D." gathered at Newport World Resorts’ Grand Bar and Lounge for a press conference that was nothing short of spectacular. The stars brought Jonathan Manalo’s greatest hits to life with showstopping vocals and high-energy choreography, all performed on a state-of-the-art moving stage. This exclusive preview offered a tantalizing glimpse of the magic that awaits theatergoers when the musical opens this April.

Behind the Scenes

The musical is the latest offering from Newport World Resorts’ Full House Theater Company (FHTC), known for their hit Filipino jukebox musicals like "Ang Huling El Bimbo" and "Buruguduystunstugudunstuy." Directed by Dexter M. Santos, with FHTC Co-Artistic Directors Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo and Michael Williams, "Delia D." is not just another jukebox musical. It’s a hybrid production that celebrates Jonathan Manalo’s biggest OPM hits while introducing brand-new, original songs.

A Story of Resilience and Dreams

Michael Williams, one of the artistic directors, shared that "Delia D." is more than just campy and comedic; it's a story about resilience, family, and the relentless pursuit of dreams. Audiences will find themselves rooting for Delia, a drag performer who refuses to let obstacles dim her shine. Her journey is one of self-discovery, filled with triumphs, heartbreaks, and the pursuit of her ultimate dream—to become a world-famous singer.

Meet the Cast

Leading the cast is Phi Palmos in the titular role of Delia, with Shaira Opsimar and Floyd Tena playing secondary roles as Kiki and Sir T. The supporting cast includes Tex Ordoñez-De Leon, Omar Uddin, Sweet Lapus, Joann Yap Co, Joshua Cabiladas, Mimi Marquez, Rapah Manalo, Miah Canton, Alfritz Blanche, Natasha Cabrera, and Chaye Mogg. Each performer brings their unique talent to the stage, creating a vibrant and unforgettable experience.
