Exciting news for travel enthusiasts! AirAsia Aviation Group is gearing up to launch over 30 new routes this year, and the Philippines is one of the key markets set to benefit from this expansion.

What's Happening?
AirAsia Group is optimizing its route network, increasing flight frequencies across high-demand routes in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Cambodia. This move aims to boost connectivity to popular destinations like India, China, and throughout ASEAN.

More Flights to Taipei! Starting July 2025, AirAsia Philippines will ramp up its Taipei service to 17 weekly flights from the current 14. This means more opportunities for travelers to explore the vibrant city of Taipei!

CEO's Vision

Ricky Isla, CEO of AirAsia Philippines, shares his excitement: “We’re committed to enhancing connectivity for both domestic and international services. The Philippines has immense potential, especially in global tourism. Increasing our Taipei flight frequencies is part of our strategy to democratize air travel and provide purposeful journeys that inspire travelers to explore their dream destinations.”

Future Plans

These efforts are paving the way for a sustainable and profitable future. AirAsia X Berhad is set to acquire AirAsia from Capital A Berhad, consolidating both short- and medium-haul airlines into a robust aviation group.

Group CEO's Insights

Bo Lingam, Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, adds: “In 2025, we’re balancing sustainable growth with profitability. Our network strategy prioritizes strategic, demand-driven connectivity across Asia. With over 30 new routes and increased frequencies, we’re responding directly to market demand. Our Fly-Thru traffic grew to 4.3 million in 2024, and we’re targeting over seven million Fly-Thru guests this year. This growth, supported by the reactivation of 16 aircraft and the delivery of 14 new aircraft, will drive our expansion plans.”

Fleet Expansion

This year, AirAsia expects to operate a fleet of 234 narrow body aircraft across its five short-haul airlines, restoring full pre-pandemic capacity. With 16 aircraft reactivated and 14 new deliveries confirmed, the airline is ready to take off!
